About Appresola

We're a small team of couples who believe playing games together is one of the simplest ways to stay connected.

Two people laughing together over a mobile game

We Started Because We Couldn't Agree on What to Play

Appresola was founded in 2021 by a couple who spent more time searching for a game to play together than actually playing. The existing review sites were either aimed at solo hardcore gamers or written by people who had clearly never tried to introduce the game to a partner unfamiliar with the genre.

We built Appresola to fill that gap. Every review answers the question most game sites never ask: "Is this actually fun for two people with different backgrounds, sitting on the same couch?"

Today, Appresola reaches over 50,000 readers a month and has reviewed more than 100 mobile games specifically through a couple's lens.

  • Transparent

We declare every conflict of interest. If a game was gifted to us, we say so. No sponsored recommendations, ever.

  • Independent

Appresola is self-funded. We answer to our readers, not to game developers or ad networks.

  • Honest

We give low scores when games deserve them. A 3-star review from us is more useful than a five-star from someone who won't tell you about the problems.

How We Review Every Game

Our review process is designed to answer the question that matters most: will this actually be fun for both of you?

Step 1 — Download & Learn

We start fresh, treating the game as a first-time player would. We note how long the onboarding takes and whether one partner might get bored while the other learns the ropes.

Step 2 — 10-Hour Test

We log at least 10 hours of play across multiple sessions — short bursts and long evenings. This helps us understand real-world pacing and replayability.

Step 3 — Monetization Audit

We document every point where the game asks for money: ads, in-app purchases, premium content. We rate how aggressive this feels during normal play.

Step 4 — Skill-Gap Check

We ask: what happens if one player is much better than the other? Games that frustrate beginners or bore experts get marked accordingly.

Step 5 — Write the Review

We write for readers, not for SEO. Reviews are structured, scannable, and honest — covering what we liked, what frustrated us, and who the game is actually for.

Step 6 — Quarterly Updates

Games change after launch. We revisit every reviewed title quarterly and update ratings if the game has materially improved or degraded.
